Trophy won in the 1948 district meet

Springfiled High's Cross-Country team made an excellent record for 1950. The harriers began their season by defeating Columbus West at Snyder Park. Then they were defeated in two successive meets by Lima Central. Lima Central again proved to be tough competition for SHS harriers when they defeated our team in the district meet. This defeat is the first one they have suffered in the district meet. This defeat is the first one they have suffered in the district in the last three years. In state meet the 'Cats placed 10th, with Marvin Wilson running 20th.
The "One-hundred Mile Club" has 20 members of whom only 7 are seniors. "Therefore", Coach Ronemus comments, "we should be in very good shape for next year's season and next year's competition". Cross-Country lettermen are shown below.
