Springfield High School Class of 1951

Girls Athletic Association

No, the GAA girls are not Amazons, but just girls who really love sports. Although the Facio course forced GAA to give up its regular meetings this semester, the members remained loyal. Basketball and hit-pin baseball are the major sports, while such activities as ping-pong and hiking are classified as minor sports.

Bowling

In it's second year of bowling our active girls' league has been much noticed. Tuesday afternoons at four the feminine sports lovers jam the alleys with their sixteen teams and try for the big scores that can bring them a trophy. Teams lucky enough to secure a sponsor appear in the halls in nameshirts.

(right) Rudy Lapp and Carolyn Beale, two outstanding bowlers. Carolyn is the busy secretary of her league.
