Gary R. Williams
Gary R. Williams, 68 of Springfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center - High Street Campus.
He was born on April 17, 1939 in Pike County, Ohio the son of Ruland and Avenelle (Entler) Williams.
He retired from International Harvester after thirty years of service, a Union Steward in Department 5196, and attended the Possum Road Church of God. Gary especially loved his family, cooking and eating and playing Bluegrass music.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Patty (Stickle) Williams of Springfield, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary R. Williams Jr. of Springfield, and Bruce W. and Joanna Williams of Terre Haute, daughter and special son-in-law, Kimmie Sue and Mark Bevan of Springfield; seven grandchildren: Stacy Williams, Tasha Williams, Ruland "Willie" Williams, Brezzie Cavins, Lucas Williams, Skyler Cavins, and Daniel Bevan; one great granddaughter, Cierra Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 from 5-8 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Vern Plyler of the Possum Road Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
