Elizabeth "Betty" J. Wagner


Elizabeth "Betty" J. Wagner, 88, of Springfield went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, February 12, 2008 in the Ohio Masonic Home with her loving family by her side.

She was born June 14, 1919 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Jesse and Marie (Cooper) Potter.

Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Leaonteen "Tootie" and Donald Thurman of West Liberty, Ohio and Judy A. and Tom Whitaker of Springfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Donna Wagner of San Antonio, Texas; daughter-in-law, Gloria Wagner of Springfield; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Horace (Russ) Wagner in 1984; son, Donald E. Wagner in 2007; granddaughter, Beth Ann Wagner in 1985; grandson, Mark in 1957; two sisters, Martha Taylor and Geraldine Bailey and a brother, Robert Potter.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Ken Whitt officiating.

Burial will follow in the Terre Haute Cemetery.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the Ohio Masonic Home staff and Dr. Garringer, everyone was so good to mom.
