Ethel A. Vickers
Ethel A. (Winkle) Vickers, 84, of Springfield, went home to be with her Lord at 6:52 PM Friday, April 18, 2008 in the Ohio Masonic Home.
She was born March 11, 1924 in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, the daughter of Milford and Trin Carter.
Mrs. Vickers was a devoted member of the Possum Road Church of God.
Survivors include five children; Patricia (Charles) Wilson, Springfield, Darrel (Brenda) Winkle, Urbana, Linda Berry, Kathy Brown, Paulette (Tom) Elam, Springfield, 20 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, three sisters; Ernie Foster, California, Dwell Stegal, Columbus, Nanny Fannin, Kentucky, one brother Billie Carter, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands William Winkle and Wallace Vickers, daughter Carol Bennett, great grandson Bryan Winkle Jr., brothers Vernon, Earl and Ray Carter, sisters Ruth Flannery and Veil Carter and her parents.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 until 8 PM Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Possum Road Church of God with Pastor William Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery.
