Alfred E. Taylor
Alfred E. Taylor, 82, of Springfield died in his home Thursday, April 17, 2008 following a year of failing health.
He was born May 28, 1925 in Springfield the son of D. Daniel and Margaret (Newkirk) Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Roy Theodore Taylor and a nephew Paul Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Geneva (Perry) Taylor; four children and spouses Ronald and Stephanie Taylor of Effingham, Illinois, Linda and Robert Vance of Columbus, Ohio, Terry and Debbie Taylor of Springfield, Paula and Brian Williams of McMinnville, Tennessee; three grandsons Brad, Ian and Elijah; three granddaughters Heather, Anda and Jaime; one great granddaughter Anna Sophia; a sister and brother-in-law Betty and Bill Lemaster of Grove City; a brother David Taylor of Enon; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alfred had been employed by United Board and Carton, S.N. Hiser, Metallic Casket Co. and Champion Company, from which he retired in 1989. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1954 and served as an Elder with the Central Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Springfield.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 4:00 PM. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2104 Kenton Street, Springfield, with Stephen Turner officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery at Rarden, Ohio. The family is being served by RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
