John H. Smith, 30, of Springfield passed away Friday afternoon, March 7, 2008.

He was born October 13, 1977 in Springfield, the son of Richard L. Smith Sr. and Rebecca A. Bowen.

John was employed by Mid City Tree Service.

Survivors include his father and step mother Richard and Colleen Smith, his mother Rebecca, his loving companion Tabatha Gorman, daughter Jo Ann Smith, step son Brandon Gorman, siblings; Richard Smith Jr., Cliff Smith, Jason (Ashton) Smith, Ralph Smith, Chris Smith, Elizabeth Smith and Evelyn Smith all of Springfield, special friend Bill Skeens and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Jamie Marie Smith.

Friends may call in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME from 5 until 8 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home with Pastor James Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
