Joseph Hager Skaggs


Joseph Hager Skaggs, 67, of Springfield passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in the Mercy Medical Center with his beloved family by his side.

He was born February 28, 1940 in Mazie, Kentucky, the son of Joseph Luther and Grettie (Ferguson) Skaggs.

Hager will always be remembered as a very loving and devoted husband, father, brother, father-in-law and papaw. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Bernice (Barker) Skaggs; four daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Bobbie Baughn of London, Ohio, Sally and Brandon Daniels, Donna and Richard Hall and Edna and Robert Leath all of Springfield; one sister, Elnora Skaggs of Springfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Gladys Skaggs of Kentucky; seven grandchildren and spouses, Richard (Tabatha) Hall, James (Kristi) Payton, Christopher Leath, Bryan Hall, Justin, Dustin and Brandy Daniels; six great grandchildren, Hailey, Alex, McKenzie, Hunter, Gabby and Braydon and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Family would like to express a special thanks to the CCU at Mercy Medical Center.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 from noon-1 P.M. in the Caines Creek in Kentucky. Funeral services will begin at 1 P.M. in the church with burial to follow in the Skaggs Cemetery in Kentucky.

The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
