Harrison William Stokes
Harrison William Stokes, 86, died Tuesday August 21, 2007, in the Ohio State University Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born April 9, 1921 in Urbana, OH, a son of the late Oro K. and Freida (Rensch) Stokes.
He was a United States Army veteran of WWII serving with the Military Police in the ETO (European Theater of Operations), receiving four Bronze Stars. Harrison was married in 1947 to Lula Mae Yoder who preceded him in death in 1974. He retired as an accountant in the financial department of C.E. Bauer in 1983.
Survivors include; daughter, Janet Lynn (Brodrick) Smith and grandson Nicholas of Kettering, OH; sister-in-law, Betty Yoder; niece, Susan Ann (Luwellyn) Pyles and a host of family and friends.
Family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday August 24, 2007 in the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, N. Limestone; where funeral service will be held 10:00am Saturday with Pastor Thomas Prochaska officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana, OH. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given in Harrison's memory to the American Cancer Society Ohio Southwest Region, 2808 Reading Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
