Helen R. Spangler
Helen R. Spangler, 82, of Springfield passed away Saturday morning, June 23, 2007 in her residence.
She was born November 15, 1924 in Lothair, Kentucky, the daughter of Dewey and Meda (Armstrong) Collins. Helen was a very devoted and compassionate mother, sister and grandmother and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Michael Swank and JoAnne and William Sloan all of Springfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Joyce Spangler of Enon, Dr. Larry and Susan Spangler of Springfield and Dewey "Butch" and Sue Spangler of Springfield; sister, Alma Marshall of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Clarence Spangler in July of 2005; sister, Nancy Scruggs and two brothers, Leo and Lawrence Collins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Michael Miracle officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Mausoleum.
