Gladys T. Stonerock


Gladys T. Stonerock, 81, of Springfield passed away Friday, June 6, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center High Street Campus.

She was born in Cumberland County, TN on March 22, 1927, the daughter of Lester Ross and Mary Ellen (Ault) Wells.

Gladys had worked at Springview as a nurse's aide for many years. Gladys was a member of East High Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother William Wells; sister Mildred Pennington; grandson Tony Stonerock.

Her survivors include her husband of 65 years S. Thomas Stonerock, whom she married July 7, 1943; one daughter Michelle Stonerock of Columbus; three sons and daughters in law Roger & Mary Stonerock of Buffalo, MO, David & Peggy Stonerock and Gregory & Teresa Stonerock both of Springfield; three sisters Dorothy & Billy Templeton of Springfield, Virginia & Jim Morris of Ocala, FL, June & Don Kieffer of Charlotte, NC; three brothers Lester & Maxine Wells of Springfield, Charles & Marie Wells of Ocala, FL, and James & Rosemary Wells of St. Paris; three grandchildren Kellie, Debbie, and Rick; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Marilyn Rowe for her love and support.

Family and friends may call Monday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A celebration of Gladys's life will be Tuesday at 10:30 AM in the memorial home with Phil Grear officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
