Garnet Opal Shook
Garnet Opal Shook, 87, of Springfield passed way Monday, June 30, 2008.
She was born November 4, 1920 in Coalton, Ohio the daughter of George Washington and Mary Ellen (Luster) Stewart.
Mrs. Shook was retired from International Truck and Engine and was a member of Highlands United Church of Christ and the Daughters of America.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Hayden and Maria Shook of Springfield; one daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Jim Cain of Jackson Center, Ohio; five grandchildren Tom Shook and wife Amy of Fort Pierce, Florida, her caregiver Melissa Shook of Columbus, Ohio, Joe Shook of Springfield, Aaron Giffin and Erica Giffin, both of Millerstown, Ohio; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Myron Hayden Shook; three brothers Tom, George and Oscar Stewart; four sisters Elsie Mosier, Lola Wilson, Nancy Stewart and Marcella Goheen.
The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM. in the Memorial Home. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 4:00 PM. in Coalton Cemetery.
