Elizabeth J. Smith
Elizabeth (Beth) J. Smith, 50, of Willard, Ohio passed away Monday, September 15, 2008. She was born October 20, 1957 in Killeen, Texas.
A 1975 graduate of Tecumseh High School, and a summa cum laude graduate from Troy State University and Indiana Institute of Technology with a degrees in accounting. She was employed as an accountant with the Department of Defense Finance & Accounting Service, a member Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society and Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow. She enjoyed her family, many friends, dominos, knitting, and quilting.
She is survived by her Father, James A. Smith, Willard, OH (Formally of New Carlisle); Mother, Virginia A. "Ginny" (Petee) and Dorris D. "Brownie" Brown, Medway, OH; Grandmother, Elaine Brown, Asa Creek, KY; Siblings, Deborah A. (Greg) Krouskop, Medway, OH, Cynthia L. (Jerry) Gracy, New Carlisle, OH, Douglas J. Smith, Boyne City, MI, Karen Sue Smith, Medway, OH, Cornelia R. Schmidt, Palmer, AK, Patricia D.W. Krupke, Bellevue, OH, Cindy (Mick) Evans, Fairborn, OH, Tim (Lori) Brown, New Carlisle, OH; and a varied circle of friends.
She was predeceased in death by grandparents Laura and Alfred Ressler; Amy & Lawrence Beachdell; step-mother W. Val Schmidt and sister, MarieAnne Schmidt; nieces and nephews, Matthew & Ami Freels, Laura, Sarah, & Catie Gracy, Brian, Will, Kirk & Kelsey Smith, Sharon Gohlike, Valerie Jackson, Theodor Schmidt, Natalia Stokes, David & Nathan Wilkerson, Brent & Shannon Collins, Melissa & Matthew Brown.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12-2 pm Saturday, September 20, 2008 with service immediately following at 2 pm at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR AND FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, with Rev. Jeff Burdsall officiating.
The family wishes to extend thanks, love and appreciation to her many friends who came in from throughout to help with transportation to school, appointments and getting her moved. Also, to the staff of Stein Hospice who made her last week with us as comfortable as possible.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Lane, Norwalk, OH 44857 or any Humane Society or animal rescue association.
