Edward R. Schrom
Edward R. Schrom, 83, of Enon died unexpectedly Monday, January 21, 2008 in Miami Valley Hospital.
He was born May 22, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio.
Mr. Schrom enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater in Burma and Japan. In 1946 he transferred to the United States Air Force, retiring in 1963 from Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a Staff Sergeant. His Commendations include the Good Conduct Medal Bronze Clasp with 5/Loops, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 4 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. He then worked 21 years for Dayton Malleable Iron Works in Security. Ed was a member of New Carlisle Masonic Lodge #100 F & AM.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Deloris (Heistand) Schrom; one son William C. Schrom of Springfield; one daughter Sheila A. Schrom of Maineville, Ohio; two sisters Helen Danese of Lima, Ohio and Emmie Lockhart of Mentor, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers Carl, Johnny and Bill Schrom and a sister Eleanor Morelli.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME, Springfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor James Christian officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum with full Military Honors.
