Doris Faye (Hollback) Stone


Doris Faye (Hollback) Stone, 84, of Springfield, was greeted by angels and went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 18, 2008 in Mercy Medical Center.,

She was born in Eifort, Ohio March 5, 1923 the daughter of Louis and Erevillie (Carter) Hollback.

She worked at Ridgley Trimmer until she met and married her husband Arthur L. Stone. Doris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doris was a member of First United Church of Christ and a member of the VFW Post 1031 Auxiliary.

She is survived by three children and spouses Robert L. Stone (Wilda), Ruth Watts and Carol Yontz (Joe), five grandchildren; Joe Yontz Jr., Vikki Williams (Mike), Cindy Nance (Dustin) of Urbana, Curtis Watts (Carol) and Cristie Yontz; five great grand children; Mikey, Courtnee, Kayla, Kristen, Cassidi and one great grandchild soon to be, one brother Charles Hollback (Vada) of Oak Hill, Ohio and several wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur L. Stone, her parents, son in law Harold L. Watts, three brothers; John L. Hollback, Everett Hollback and Robet Hollback, three sisters Ruby Potts, Margaret Clark and Mary E. Davis.

We would like to thank the nursing staff on 4 South at Mercy Medical Center for taking such good care of our Mother.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 until 8 PM Monday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Gail Eastwood officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
