Dick E. Ryman
Dick E. Ryman, 85, of Springfield passed away Monday morning, December 22, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center-East High Campus.
He was born July 24, 1923 in Springfield, the son of Orland E. and Catherine (Gebhart) Ryman.
Dick was a veteran of the United States Army 102nd Infantry Division of the Ozarkes during World War II. He worked at NCR and retired from the Dayton Daily News after many years of service. Dick loved watching his grandchildren play sports, taking rides with his beloved wife, playing cards and was an avid bowler. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Charyl (Parkinson) Ryman; three daughters and sons-in-law, Julie A. (Bill) Zeller of Springfield, Tina R. (Mike) Miller of Springfield and Nancy R. (Jim) Presot of Independence, Ohio; one son, Steven M. Ryman of South Charleston, Ohio; daughter, Gayle Frock deceased (Jim) of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack O. and Paul G. Ryman and a very special aunt and uncle, Martha and Raymond Frock.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 26, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with military honors for Mr. Ryman.
