Lester F. Peterman
Lester F. Peterman, 66, of Springfield, died at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born June 12, 1941 in Ashland, Kentucky to John and Juanita (Howard) Peterman. He retired as Postmaster from the United States Postal Service in Jamestown and prior to that he worked locally for the Postal Service for 28 years. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Antique Classic Boating Society, VFW Post 1031, Classic Car Club and was a United States Marine veteran having served in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Penny K. (Stinnett); two sons and spouse, James A Peterman, Plain City, Ohio and Jeffrey (Christi) Peterman, Waverly, Ohio; three grandchildren, Trevor, Chelsea and Justin; four brothers and spouses, Dennis (Nonie) Peterman, Mocksville, North Carolina, Don (Kathy) Peterman, Woodstock, Georgia, Jerry (Pam) Peterman and Harry (Jan) Peterman, all of Springfield; brother-in-law, Bob (Mary) Stinnett; sister-in-law, Nancy (Jim) Ervin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lester was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at Central United Methodist Church, 102 W. High St. at Center St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the church with Pastor Julie Carmean officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
