James Elwood Parkison Sr.


James Elwood Parkison, 68, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008.

He was born May 20, 1940 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late Theodore and Margaret (Wiles) Parkison. Mr. Parkison was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents , his sister; Ruby Davis, his brother; Jacob Parkison, and his only son; James Elwood Parkison Jr..

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in- law all of Springfield; Cindy and David Carlisle, Karen and Bryant Will, Ethel and Tyrone Taylor and Becky and Rick Hayes, twelve grandchildren; Kellie, James (Ty), Anthony, Tenika, Karlton, Alisha, Khristina, Brittney, Jacob, Ryan, Nathaniel and Trevor, five great grandchildren; Sonti, Ta'Nia, Ka'Miyah, Da Naysha and Naszay and close extended family including Charles Harris and Kimberly Chance.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Bill Blain officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
