Jerry Palmer
Jerry Palmer, 61, of Springfield, passed away Friday November 14, 2008 in his residence. He was born March 5, 1947 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the Carl and Helen (Kenney) Palmer.
Jerry had served as South Viennas first Police Chief, Deputy for the Clark County Sheriff Department and a Park Ranger. He had also served on the Springfield Township Fire Department Station 3 Rockway as an Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter.
Survivors include his wife Christi Palmer; daughter, Dawn Palmer of South Vienna; two sons, Carl Palmer and Robert Palmer both of Springfield; seven grandchildren; Kassandra, Melissa, Mark Jr., Sasha, Dakota, Christa and Paige and one unborn grandchild Navaeha; brother-in-law, Guy Patrick DeCamp of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and best friend, David Bartley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Springfield, 638 South Fountain Avenue, where funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday with Pastor Ken Whitt officiating.
The family is being served by LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Mercy Hospice, 1343 N. Fountain Blvd, Springfield, Ohio 45504.
