Jon Paul Oman
Jon Paul Oman, 69, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 22, 2008 in his residence.
He was born January 20, 1939 in Springfield, the son of Howard and Cecile ( Platt) Oman.
Mr. Oman was a member of the Union Club and was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Kroger's and was currently employed by Keebler Bakery and doing lawn care. Jon loved the outdoors and was an avid collector of any and all Coca Cola memorabilia.
Survivors include six children; Dawn (Daniel ) Clark, Denise (Matthew) Oman-Perkins, Douglas (Miste) Adams, all of Springfield, Debbie (Jene) Gaver, Urbana, Lisa (John) Quaintance, Elida, Ohio and Cathy (Dennis) Dern, South Lebanon, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren; Douglas, Kristen, Leeah, Jesse, Sarah, Jayme, Brittany, Joshua, Kevin, Eric, Brian, Erin and Sam, two great grandchildren; Brittany and Adam, one sister Betty Ferguson, Marion Ohio, several nieces and nephews and a devoted girl friend of 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Howard Oman.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 until 8 PM Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Leiker officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
