Robert A. "Red" Nicholson


Robert A. "Red" Nicholson, 88, passed away Thursday morning, December 6, 2007 in his residence with his loving family by his side.

He was born March 15, 1919 in Glouster, Ohio, the son of Robert and Stella (Banfield) Nicholson.

Red was a veteran of the United States Army and served our country proudly during World War II. He retired from Robbins and Myers with over 40 years of service. Red was an avid fisherman and enjoyed wood working in his spare time. Red will always be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, papaw and pappy and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Eileen (Drake) Nicholson; two daughters and son-in-law, Roberta Castle and Patricia and Larry Davis all of Springfield; three grandchildren and spouses, Timothy (Joy) Castle, Joseph (Stephanie) Castle and Matt (Kristin) Davis; six great grandchildren, Dawn McDaniel, Jason Castle, Justin Castle, Bo Davis and Mac Davis; one great great grandchild, Jessica McDaniel; brother-in-law, Edgar Vest and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; two brothers; son-in-law, Eugene Castle and sister-in-law, Anita Vest.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
