Larry Emerson Maurer
Larry Emerson Maurer, 63, of Pitchin, OH, died at 3 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007 in his residence.
He was born September 13, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio to Rodney and Mertie (Myers) Maurer. He retired as a layout inspector for International Harvester Company. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served in the Vietnam War and receiving honors including, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one star and Vietnam Campaign Medal with device.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia ; four children and spouses, Joey Alkire, Jerry & Tammy Alkire of Florida, Jimmy & Tammie Alkire and Joni Hamaker, Columbus, OH; six grandchildren, Tabitha Blankenship, Paige Miller, Corey Hamaker, Casey Alkire, Kyle Alkire and Joseph Alkire; three great grandchildren, Brandon Blankenship, Nathalie Blankenship and Penny Herzog; one nephew, Ryan Hunter and one niece and spouse, Crystal & Dusty Herzog and a special friend. Sandy Lobeck. His parents and a sister Penny Hunter preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Conroy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Myra Banion officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice.
