George E. Miller


George E. Miller, 80, of Springfield, died Wednesday morning, September 12, 2007 in Mercy St. John's Center.

He was born in Springfield on June 18, 1927 the son of the late, Rev. James M. and Bessie (Lewis) Miller. George worked as a freelance interior decorator for many years as well as a church organist for Harmony United Methodist, North Hampton United Church of Christ, and Story-Hypes United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran.

Survivors include two brothers, Richard (Katherine) Miller of Springfield and Kenneth L. Miller of Palm Springs, California and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Miller and Lucille Cook and three brothers, Junior, Given and Henry Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First United Church of Christ with Rev. John Caster officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. The LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
