Alice Mae Murnahan


Alice Mae DeWell (Reeder) Murnahan, 80, formerly of South Charleston, Ohio, left her earthly home to sing in the heavenly choir on Monday, March 12, 2008.

She had been a resident of Springfield and South Charleston; attended the Northside Church of God, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years before moving to Dennison, Ohio in 2005.

Alice was born July 18, 1927 to the late Benjamin and Blanche (King) DeWell.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Lucinda (Jim) Owens, South Charleston, OH., Wilma (Rev. Dean) Teal, Dennison, OH., with whom she resided, Sandra (Rev. Jerry) Baker of Jacksonville, NC., and James (Tonya) Murnahan of Xenia, OH., 11 grandchildren; Jason (Miranda) Owens, Jarrod Owens, Tanya (Brad) Brillhart, Andra (Timothy) Roberts, Jeremy (Lisa) Baker, Amber (Mike) Balash, Sarah (Thomas) Hersman, Allissa (Jeremy) Buseman, Tracey Thompson, JC and Ashlynn Murnahan, 10 great- grandchildren, sister Dorothy Chandler of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Alice also leaves behind her extended church family in Springfield and in Dennison as well as many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings; George, Howard, Paul, John, Edwin and Robert, Kathryn Simons, Esther Helms, Glenna Davis, and a grandaughter Megan Murnahan.

Friends may call Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6-8pm in the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME 2425 N. Limestone St. Funeral service 11:00am Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Northside Church of God with Rev. Gary Swogger officiating. Burial to follow in the Fletcher Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Dennison First Church of God, Northside church of God, Salvation Army of Tuscarawas County or Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
