Don F. Leifheit


Don F. Leifheit, 87 of Springfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, January 3rd, after a brief illness.

He was born on April 30, 1920 in Pomeroy, Ohio.

Don was a long time member of First Christian Church and was a former chairman of the trustees. He was an Assistant Chief of Springfield Township 2 Fire Department and was in charge of the Paramedics Division; a WWII veteran serving in the United States Navy; a Past Master of Anthony Lodge # 455 and a member of the Scottish Rite.

Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Jane (McClaskey) Leifheit; two sons, Gary (Sandy) Leifheit of Scottsdale, AZ, and Don (Susan) Leifheit of Springfield; Grandsons Jay Leifheit of Roaring Springs, PA, Jeremy and Fiancé Heather Dixon, Brian (Denise) Leifheit, and Michael Leifheit all of Springfield, and Great Granddaughters Ember, Halle, and Venna Leifheit.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Leifheit and Mother-in-Law, Elizabeth Rader.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 6, 2008 from 2-4 PM at JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME - SPRINGFIELD, with funeral services held Monday, January 7, 2008 at FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to service with Craig Grammer and John Wilson officiating. Internment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Don will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
