Douglas Kurt Langstaff
Douglas Kurt Langstaff, 21, of Fairborn, was set free from Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and went home to be with the Lord and his wife Misty on Sunday September 2, 2007. He died at Children's Medical Center, Dayton.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1985 to Stephen and Beverly (Reynolds) Langstaff. They are overjoyed that the Lord entrusted them with the opportunity of raising, caring for, and loving Douglas for 21 years. The Lord knew Douglas would need more time and care because of CF. He needed a brother that would be patient and understanding of the extra attention he required and at home waiting for him was such an older brother, Bradley.
Douglas was preceded in death by the "love of his life" his beautiful wife, Misty Michelle Sheri (Rose) Langstaff on May 15, 2007. Douglas and Misty were married April 14, 2007. They worshipped Christ and put the Lord as the head of their home. They are now again together, worshipping their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for all eternity.
Douglas is survived by his parents Stephen and Beverly Langstaff of Springfield; Brother Bradley Michael Langstaff, (Kylie, wife) of St. Paris; Grandmother Lois Reynolds (John deceased) of Rushsylvania; Grandparents Marie and Robert Langstaff of Florida; and many relatives.
Douglas' commitment to Christ was manifest in his desire to be a Youth Pastor as he had attended Mt. Vernon Nazarene University. He served his church as an Assistant Youth Pastor. Douglas never asked God to heal him of Cystic Fibrosis, nor complained. He felt that his illness was God's will and he accepted his condition.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, September 7, 2007, 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at Bethel Community Church of the Nazarene, 4400 Osborne Rd., Medway, Ohio.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007, 10:30 AM at the church.
Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
Doug's life on earth and exodus into God's presence has made a tremendous impact on many. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, brother and sisters in Christ, and his friends. "We love you son and will rejoice with you in heaven someday."
Memorial contributions may be made to the Douglas Kurt Langstaff Scholarship Fund in care of the Bethel Community Church of the Nazarene, 4400 Osborne Rd., Medway, OH 45341.
