Betty Zane Leffel


Betty Zane (Wunderlich) Leffel, 91, of West Chester, Ohio and formerly of Springfield passed away Friday morning, August 1, 2008 in the Heritage Spring Health Center.

She was born August 18, 1916 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Howard F. and Mabel E. (Albyn) Wunderlich.

Betty graduated from Wittenberg University and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi. She was a past member of the Oakland Presbyterian Church where she was very active for many years. She enjoyed painting and was a member of the Forest Hills Gardening Club.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Philip Merz of West Chester, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Mary Wunderlich of Dayton, Ohio and Sue Wunderlich of Naples, Florida; one granddaughter, Dr. Meredith Merz of Columbus, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elwood S. Leffel in 1992 and two brothers, Howard F. Wunderlich Jr. and Richard L. Wunderlich.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 10-11 a.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
