Allen M. Lehmkuhl


Allen M. Lehmkuhl, 63, of Springfield passed away gently at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, December 06, 2008 in the arms of his family at Springfield Regional Medical Center High Street Campus.

Allen was born in Springfield, Ohio on January 26, 1945 the son of John Allen and Doris M. (Cappelli) Lehmkuhl. He was a practicing attorney in Springfield for many years and he also served as a magistrate for a number of years. Allen graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1963 and is a graduate of Wittenberg University and Capital University School of Law. He also was considered a historian on the Civil War and WW 2 having read thousands of books on each subject.

He is survived by a sister Aurora Sue Lehmkuhl, Springfield, OH; three brothers and sister-in-law Stephen Lehmkuhl, Springfield, OH, Phillip and Carolynne Lehmkuhl, Mt. Vernon, OH, John Craig Lehmkuhl, Columbus, OH; special aunt Aurora Robey and her son Clyde A. DePuy both of Springfield and with whom Allen had shared many happy days during his childhood. Other survivors include several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends include John Doughty, Dennis Stegner, Jennifer Sobczynski and the members of the BDLA.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Conroy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
