Nancy S. King
Nancy S. King, 72, of Springfield, died Friday evening, October 12, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center following a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. The courage, dignity and grace with which she faced her illness was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
She was born in Springfield on August 2, 1935 the daughter of Herschel A. and Esther M. (Snyder) Warren.
Nancy attended The Ohio State University and Clark State Community College. She retired as an office manager from Field & Associates in 1997 and previously worked at Springfield Brass Company. She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church where she served on the board of trustees and as the Chairman of the Administrative Board amongst other offices. Additionally she was a member of the National Association of Accountants. Nancy volunteered with the Springfield Symphony and the Clark Memorial Home. She was an avid bridge player having been with several groups for over 30 years, a gourmet cook, an artist in several media, and an avid reader with an emphasis on history.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, E. Dale King; two daughters, Natalie K. Kilner of Walnut Creek, California and Rev. Diana D. "Dee" King of New Carlisle; two sisters, Evelyn W. Heil of Springfield and Dr. Linda W. Smith D.D.S. of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; two grandsons, Cameron T. and Matthew R. Kilner; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
The celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2007 in Central United Methodist Church with Pastor Julie Carmean officiating.
The family will receive friends beginning at 3:30.
