M/Sgt. Jeffrey L. Kniceley, Sr.
M/Sgt. Jeffrey L. Kniceley, Sr., 41, of Springfield died Friday, January 11, 2008 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born August 1, 1966 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Lloyd M. and Etta C. (Noe)Kniceley.
M/Sgt. Kniceley enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1984 and served as a Crew Chief on F-4 fighter jets. He then served in the Air Force Reserve, transferred to the Air National Guard in1996 and in 2001 became Active Guard Reserve with the 178th Fighter Wing. He served Humanitarian Missions in Belize, Hurricane Katrina, Denmark, Honduras and South Dakota, and served a tour of duty in Iraq. His commendations include the Air Force Meritorious Service Award, Air Force Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Meritorious Unit Award (Combat), Operation Iraqi Freedom Award, Ohio Humanitarian Service Award and the Global War on Terrorism Award. Jeff attended Clark State University and was a member of Lake Avenue Christian Church in New Carlisle, Boggs Lodge #292 F & AM in DeGraff, Ohio, Harley Owners Group (HOG), OHSAA Umpires Association and Springfield Umpires Association.
He is survived by his parents of Quincy, Ohio; his wife of nine years, Trish (Feagans)Kniceley; seven children Caz Coy and fiancé Brittany Bush of Springfield, Caroline Marie Kniceley and Rebecca Morgan Kniceley of Troy, Ohio, Jad Coy, Brittany Elizabeth Kniceley, Jeffrey Lee Kniceley,Jr. and Taj Lanee' Kniceley all at home; one brother and sister-in-law Lloyd M. and Cindy Kniceley, Jr. and their children Jacob and Megan of Quincy, and his mother-in-law Patti Feagans of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law George T. Feagans I.
The family will receive visitors Monday from 4-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Boggs Lodge will hold Masonic Services Tuesday at 10:30 AM. immediately followed by funeral services with Pastor Randy Warner officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
