Betty Mae Koepnick


Betty Mae Koepnick, 81, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in Oakwood Village.

She was born on October 4, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Alvie and Odean (Runyon) Pearson.

She was a forty-three resident of Enon from 1951-1994 and fourteen year resident of Springfield from 1994-2008. Mrs. Koepnick was a member of the Fairborn Women AGLOW and active with the Wilmington, Kettering, and Springfield Emmaus Communities. Betty was also actively involved with the United Methodist Churches in Enon, while a resident, and then Northridge after moving to Springfield.

She is survived by her husband Edward of sixty-three years, five children and their spouses: James R. and Sandra Koepnick of Parrish, Florida; Mark W. and Diane Koepnick of Fairmont, West Virginia; Marcia D. and Orva Detrick of Springfield, Matthew E. and Tambra Koepnick of Springfield; and John D. Koepnick of Springfield; ten grandchildren and their spouses: James E. and Natelie Koepnick, Ryan E. and Emily Detrick, Aaron P. Detrick, Rex Koepnick, Clint Koepnick, Kenneth R. Koepnick, Joshua Koepnick, Alan Koepnick, Deborah R. Koepnick, and Amber Koepnick; three great grandchildren: Mercedes and Alyssa Koepnick, and Susanna Detrick; one brother and sister-in-law, Alvie and Karen Lynch of California; sister-in-law, Joanne M. Allen, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jean Ratliff, and two brothers-in-law: Edward Allen and William Koepnick.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Northridge United Methodist Church, 4610 Derr Rd., Springfield with Reverend Ken Woode officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the time of service in the church.

Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

The Koepnick's would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the compassionate caregivers at Oakwood Village and Community Mercy Hospice.

The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
