Richard F. Hohl
Richard F. Hohl, 90, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Monday November 19, 2007.
He was born August 30, 1917 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Carl & Irene (Tate) Hohl.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a retired teacher with Beavercreek Schools. Richard wrote children's literature with Highlights, Wright Writers Group and he taught inmates in Greene County Jail so they could get their GED. He was also a lifetime farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anna; children, Carole Hohl and her husband Jonathan Rosenberg of Boston, Massachusetts, Nancy and her husband, Ronald Rowe, Steve and his wife Mindy Hohl, Rob and his wife Monica Hohl all of New Carlisle; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mary Catherine Murphy of Centerville, Ohio, Rita & Alvin Spraley of North Star, Ohio, Martin & Vivian Hohl of Centerville, Jack & Marty Hohl of Dayton, Ann Debrosse of Dayton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Karl.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday November 23, 2007 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
