Miriam Lauretta Hartley
Miriam Lauretta Hartley, 87, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Wednesday November 21, 2007.
She was born August 1, 1920 in West Alexandria, Ohio the daughter of George & Ida (Erbaugh) Kempton.
She had one older brother, Hobert. George and Hobert were both building contractors. During the depression, this trade was very slow and George was able to get a job as a tool maker at the International Harvester Company in Springfield. Therefore, in 1937, George, Ida and Miriam moved to New Carlisle. Hobert and his wife Helen remained in West Alexandria, but later moved here. On September 6, 1941, Miriam married Marvin Hartley, who preceded her in death in 1969.
Her parents, brother and son, David, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son and two daughters-in-law, Victoria Hartley of Sunbury, Ohio, Richard & Lonna Hartley of New Carlisle, and a daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann & James Wiblin of Newark, Ohio. She has six grandchildren, Andrew, Zachary, Allison and Kristen Hartley, and Daniel & Amanda Wiblin, two step granddaughters, Jessica & Kara.
Miriam was a member of the First United Methodist Church of New Carlisle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 27, 2007 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Visitation two hours prior to services in the funeral home. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery.
