Doris Mae Hall


Doris Mae Hall, 86, of Springfield passed away June 1, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center E.R.

She was born September 8, 1920 in East Liverpool, OH to Fred W. and Verner (Harrison) Neiser. She attended the public schools and graduated from high school there in 1938. Doris then earned a secretarial certification from Grace Martin Secretarial School in Pittsburgh, PA. She married Richard M. Hall on May 22, 1942. After WW 2 they lived in Columbus and Springfield and then moved to Orlando, FL and raised their two daughters, after which they moved back to Springfield in 1972.

Doris was an active member at the High Street United Methodist Church and served in many community organizations, including the United Methodist Women's Society, Orlando Garden Club, P.E.O. and president of the Women's Club of Orlando, which managed a residence home for working women.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Dick Hall; 2 daughters, Kathy (John) Byrd, Albuquerque, N.M and Janet (Ed) Collins, Columbus, OH; cousin, Art Schreiber, Albuquerque, N.M.; sisters in law, Bev Hall Smith, Fairfield, OH and Helen Hall, Columbus, OH; numerous nephews and their families and special friends, Jim and Joan Foreman and their families. Her family holds dear memories of her kindness and thoughtfulness to everyone. She had an enjoyment of nature and a love of her family, church and the Lord.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday in the High Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Cary Simonton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church parlor. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, East Liverpool, OH. The family request memorial donations to P.E.O. Foundation, c/o Peggy Shelton, 2333 Rebecca Dr., Springfield, OH 45503.
