Van M. Geondeff
Van M. Geondeff, 61, of Springfield, died at 7:33 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2007.
He was born March 17, 1946 in Edessa, Greece to Dimitre and Irene Dragoumantsis and came to the United States in 1951. He had been a businessman in the Springfield area for 30 years. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Colleen (Gannon); one son, Vann Geondeff and fiancée Liz Greene, Seattle, Washington; sister, Katina Pachous, Edessa, Greece; loving mother-in-law, Jacquelyne Gannon, Columbus, Ohio; four sisters-in-law and spouses; 3 brothers-in-law and spouses; 27 nieces and nephews; one aunt, Helen Chakeres; special friends, Lily, Larry and Alex Kovaleski and many other friends.
He was preceded in death by his Greek parents and his American parents, Michael and Persfone Geondeff and his father-in-law, William Gannon.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Lavern Nissley officiating.
