Larno W. "Larry" Gay
Larno W. "Larry" Gay, 79, of Springfield, passed away Monday morning, April 23, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born on May 12, 1927 in Pekin, Illinois the son of Kenneth and Bernice Gay.
Larry retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after over twenty one years of service and later retired from the Springfield Post Office with fifteen years of service. He was a former member of the Cherry Blossom Lodge F. & A.M. Itazuke, Japan and the Springfield Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Doris L. (Gearey) Gay; four children and spouses, Marcia and Gregory Carper of Cape Coral, Florida, Diane Love of Huber Heights, Tom and Judy Love of Medway, and David and Jennifer Love of Xenia; two brothers, Warren and Richard Gay, both of Illinois; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his extended family; and many special friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Putnam officiating. Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45229-3095.
