John F. Gallagher
John F. Gallagher, 83, of Springfield, died Tuesday August 7, 2007 in Community Hospital.
He was born June 11, 1924 in Chanute, Kansas to Orion E. and Julia (Galvin) Gallagher.
John was employed as an auditor for the national Fraternal Order of Eagles. He later moved to Springfield and became president of Insure-All Services, Inc. until his retirement. He, along with his wife, founded and was president of the Clark County Audubon Society, was a member and longtime secretary/ treasurer of the Irish Fellowship Society, board member of the Parish News and in charge of the Parish Blood Bank, was president and treasurer of the Garden Acres Water Company and was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years.
He is survived by a brother and spouse, Daniel and Kikuko Gallagher, Jefferson City, MO; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joe and Heidi Kelly and Steve and Merrelyn Powers. His wife, Pauline H. in 1986, preceded him in death.
Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clark County Audubon Society, 207 Larchmont Dr., Springfield, OH 45503 or St. Raphael Church.
