Harold Morris Goheen
Harold Morris Goheen,73, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in the home of his sister Georgeanna Mowen, after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 16, 1935 to Samuel M. and Marcella (Stewart) Goheen of Catawba, Ohio.
Harold had retired from his own business, Goheen's Blacktop and Sealcoating Service. He had also worked for the Champion Company as a Government Certified Arc Welder and was always a very hard worker.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Randy Harold and Cathy Goheen; his daughter and son-in-law Cynthia Lynn and Stephen Gudorf; four special grandchildren Amanda and Michael Goheen, Angela and Tyler Gudorf; two brothers and sisters-in-law Samuel R. and Barbara Goheen, Melvin D. and Carlene Goheen; his sister Georgeanna Mowen with whom he had resided the past four years; brother-in-law James McGee; special friend Julie Short, all of Springfield; one aunt Garnet "Opal" Shook of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mary M. Boggs and Phyllis A. McGee; brothers-in-law James Boggs and Foster Mowen. His daughter, Cynthia had given him special love and care for six years in her home, prior to his moving to his sister's home due to circumstances beyond his daughter's control.
Harold also leaves behind his former wife Mary Ann, who loved him for over fifty years.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday from 1-2 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM. in the Memorial Home. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, South Vienna.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community-Mercy Hospice of Springfield.
The family would like to extend "A Special Thank You" to the hospice nurses and all the caregivers who helped with our father and brother.
