William B. "Bill" Frantz


William B. "Bill" Frantz, 87, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord Friday morning, December 7, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center with his loving wife beside him. He was born in Springfield on December 2, 1920 the son of Joseph H. and Estella C. (Neese) Frantz.

Bill retired from Cameron-Cooper in 1983 following 30 years of service and owned and operated Frantz Insurance Agency for 15 years.

He was a lifelong member of the Donnels Creek Church of the Brethren where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon for many years and was named Deacon Emeritus in 2006. He was a member of Yellow Springs Lodge 421 F. & A.M., Palestine Commandery, Xenia Council, Antioch Shrine, Scottish Rite, White Shrine of Jerusalem, and Eldora Chapter 262 Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife and best friend of 54 years, Louise L. (Litton) Frantz; a sister, Marjorie L. Roeth of Troy, Ohio; a brother, Harold E. Frantz of Covington, Ohio; four nephews, Brian Roeth, Craig Long, Jeff Frantz, and Rick Frantz; and special friends, Howard and Mary Lou Leist. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Tom Frantz.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m. Bill's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Donnels Creek Church of the Brethren with Pastor Tad Hobert officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery.
