Ethel Sue Furay
Ethel Sue Furay of Yellow Springs, passed away peacefully at Friends Care Center on Saturday, September 27, 2008. She was born in Springfield, Ohio, daughter of Stephen and Lula Hopkins.
Ethel had a true passion for watching football, making ceramics, gardening, line dancing, bowling, golfing and playing her guitar while singing. She was a member of the Union Club, Springfield Eagles, Moose Lodge, Ladies Auxiliary, Enon VFW, Am Vets, and the Red Hat Society. Ethel worked for Robbins and Meyers as a supervisor, and retired after 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ernest Hopkins. She is survived by her son, Steven Furay; grandson, Matthew Furay; sister and brother-in-law, June and Otis Wortham; Stepbrothers, Steve and Kenneth Hopkins; close nephew, Ron Hopkins; special friend, Gene Paden; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from 5-7PM at JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME- SPRINGFIELD. A celebration of Ethel's life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 1 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Howard Benson officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
