Gladys P. Dixon
Gladys P. Dixon (Gorgeous Gladys), age 89, of Springfield, Ohio passed away at Kettering Medical Center on Tuesday, November 18, at 10:15 AM. She went home to be with Jesus surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 9, 1919 in Johnson County, Kentucky to Peter and Lora Moore. She had been in failing health for several months. Gladys worked at Robbins and Myers and Ohio Thermometer for several years of her life. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, watching game shows and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Dixon in 1970, two daughters Barbara Fraley and Gladys Brown and a son Arnie Colvin, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law Donna and Jim McCracken and one son and daughter-in-law Kendrick L. and Mary Colvin. Two sons-in-law Roger Fraley and Forrest Brown, devoted grandsons and their wives Marc and Debbie McCracken and Rusty and Jenny McCracken and adopted granddaughter Nikki Hart, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She had two special little angels fulfilling her life with joy and laughter "Mallorie" and "Nicollette" who were great granddaughters and one great grandson, Michael. She had a special adopted daughter Joyce Clark and very special sister-in-law Juanita Moore and daughter-in-law Emma Roberts.
She was adored by her grandchildren, great grandchildren , many nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She had three special nieces; Hazel, Mary and Linda.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Wiley Perkins officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. She will be laid to rest beside her husband whom she has missed for 38 years.
Many lives were touched by knowing and loving Gladys. Gladys will be missed by her families and friends. Her family wants to give many thanks to everyone for their thoughtfulness and kindness in the loss of their precious loved one.
