William E. Compston, Sr.


William E. Compston Sr., 77, of Springfield passed away at 3:35 AM Friday, August 17, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center.

He was born September 5, 1929 in Springfield the son of William H. and Hazel (Childs) Compston. Mr. Compston was retired from William Bailey in 1992. He enjoyed Lakewood Beach, visiting with his friends there, and just relaxing on his front porch at home watching the world go by.

Survivors include his wife Anna (Caskey) Compston, two sons: William E. (Ana) Compston Jr. and Tony L. (Brenda) Compston all of Springfield, two grand children: Michael Chad (Jenny) Compston and Tyler Compston, and three great grand children Chasity, Michael and Devin Compston. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jack Compston.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Newcomers Cemetery.
