Eleanor E. Cunningham
Eleanor E. Cunningham, 85, of Springfield, passed away on the sunny Sunday afternoon of March 2, 2008; she is now peaceful and resting.
She was born in Springfield on February 21, 1923 the daughter of Reuben and Susan (Whaley) Burchnell.
Eleanor retired from Northeastern High School following twenty years of service and previously worked at Steel Products during WWII. She was a member of the Hillside Avenue Church of God.
She is survived by three children, Michael Cunningham of Columbus, Margie (Ron) Boyer of Waverly, Ohio and Steve Cunningham of Springfield; a daughter-in-law, Ann Cunningham of South Vienna; a brother, Donald H. (Georgann) Burchnell of Greenville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Pat Cunningham; and three sisters, Marie Van Horn, Norma Louise Frey and Phyllis Hines.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Mike Criner officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
