Virginia L. Beery


Virginia L. Beery, 82 of Springfield passed away Friday morning, November 9, 2007 in the Heartland of Urbana.

She was born April 30, 1925 in Springfield, the daughter of Floyd and Leta (Blakely) Lowry.

Virginia was a graduate of Catawba High School, worked as a cashier at Fulmer Supermarkets in Springfield for over 30 years and was a member of the Faith in Christ Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Fred A. and Kay Beery of Urbana, Ohio; step-son and spouse, James P. and Jean Beery of Johnson City, Tennessee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Bettie Lowry of Alabama and Max and Jean Lowry of Urbana, Ohio; two grandchildren, Stephanie K. (Bob) Herbert of Delaware, Ohio and Michael A. Beery of Columbia, South Carolina and special friend, Homer Williams of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred P. Beery in May of 1986.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Jeff Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery.
