John H. Bainter


John H. Bainter, of Springfield, went to join his beloved wife Virginia and be with the Lord on December 15, 2007.

He was born in Springfield, Ohio May 25, 1919 to Newton J. Bainter and Myrtle Oldham Bainter.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Bonni Armstrong, two dear granddaughters Holly (Carl) Kirby and Meredith (Joseph) Lauer and three great grandsons Noah Kirby and Dylan and Logan Lauer all of Florida. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews, in addition to many dear friends at the Ohio Masonic Home.

He graduated from New Moorefield High School. He was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church. He was a Master Mason of Anthony Lodge # 455. He served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army, European Theater during World War II. He worked in the bindery at Crowell Collier for many years and was retired form J. C. Penney. He was a member of Springfield Management Association for many years. He was also a popular local photographer. He loved animals, enjoyed golfing, Ohio State football and Cincinnati Reds baseball and his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards for many years at Elderly United.

Friends may call in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME from 5 until 8 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Sherri Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
