Charles R. Brandon, Sr.
Charles R. Brandon, Sr., 90, of Springfield, died at 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2008 in Mercy St. John's Center.
He was born December 2, 1917 in Greenville, Ohio, the son of Harlan and Echo Olive (Ullom) Brandon. He had worked as a Pressman for Crowell-Collier and the Dayton Daily News for 30 years where he was also a supervisor, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Masons, F.O.E. #397, V.F.W. and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Clarabelle (Fulton); two children and spouse, Charles (Jeanne) Brandon, Jr., Medway and Marguerite M. Brandon, Beavercreek; four grandchildren, Diane, Douglas, Kathleen and Nancy; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Robert Scott officiating. Friends may call two hours prior from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
